Harvest Festival

Rooted in Love, Fellowship & the Land

Sowing Seeds Russell Farm hosts an annual Harvest Festival, a day filled with laughter, fresh air, and the joy of community. Guests of all ages came together to pick pumpkins, share dishes with farm-grown ingredients, and enjoy the rhythm of the season through games, warm cider, Farm History stories, and laughter.

But for us, it’s always more than just an event.

The Harvest Festival is part of something deeper, a growing tradition rooted in our mission to sow a legacy of love, healing, and fellowship through nature. It’s about creating space where people can slow down and reconnect with the land, and with each other.

Each year, we hope to cultivate not just crops, but community, by inviting you to experience the beauty of outdoor life, the nourishment of farm-to-table food, and the simple joy of being present.

Thank you, thank you, thank you! 🎃🌾🍂
Our Fall Harvest Festival wouldn’t be the same without YOU, from pumpkin painting to farm-fresh bites and laughter across the field. Seeing our community come together is what makes this tradition so special. 🧡 We’re grateful for every family, friend, vendor, volunteer, and smiling face who helped make this year unforgettable. Already excited for the next one!

Whether you joined us this year or plan to join us in seasons to come, we thank you for being part of this journey.

Until then… thank you for supporting local and loving the farm with us!

Meet

Chef Jonnesha “Jo” Moore

Chef Jo Moore brings her passion for cooking and deep love of Southern cuisine to every plate she creates—blending tradition with a modern, elevated touch.

Born and raised in Bennettsville, South Carolina, Jo found inspiration in the heart of her family's kitchen. Watching her grandmother, Clara, mother, Lakecia, and aunt Amanda cook together sparked a lifelong love for food and community. After mastering her first dish, scrambled eggs with cheese, she knew she had found her calling.

A proud graduate of Johnson & Wales University–Charlotte, Chef Moore earned her Associate Degree in Culinary Arts in 2019, followed by a Bachelor’s in Food & Beverage Entrepreneurship in 2021. With more than eight years of experience in the culinary industry, including time spent as a Pastry Chef, she has cultivated both technical expertise and creative flair.

Today, Chef Moore serves as the Culinary Arts Teacher at Sun Valley High School, where she finds joy in mentoring the next generation of chefs. Nothing compares, she says, to seeing a student’s face light up when they taste a dish they’ve prepared themselves.

Outside the classroom, Chef Moore is the owner of Elevated Eatz, a catering and meal prep business focused on delivering flavorful, beautifully crafted meals. When she's not in the kitchen, she enjoys spending time with her pets, family, and friends, and immersing herself in anything creative, competitive, or hands-on.

At the heart of it all, Chef Moore’s mission remains simple: to spread love and joy—one delicious dish at a time.
